New Year, New Path

The beginning of the year is an excellent time to think about new goals you want to achieve and what you want to do differently in your life. It can be a little overwhelming sometimes, but with the right attitude can make all the difference. For example, if thinking about going back to college and finishing a degree is too big right now, let’s focus on building proficiency in skills. It’s important to take small steps especially when the big ones feel too hard.

The University of Hawaii Maui College offers both in-person and online short term courses that allow students to quickly master today’s in-demand skills. You can start this month and be on your way to building expertise in a variety of areas that employers are looking for. Depending on the course, you could spend 2 days to 3 months, which is worth your time to learn something new or brush up on topics you’ve become rusty in. So take a small leap this month and see where it leads. You never know how signing up for a new class can lead you in a direction you never thought possible. Believe in yourself and all you can achieve.
