New Reimagine Workforce Pathways “IT Training” Grant Program at UHMC

jobsThe University of Hawaii has a new Reimagine Workforce Pathways training grant program that could offer sponsored IT training for reskilling employees for workforce development. Check out earning possibilities >  IT Careers (1)
CIO Council, Cyber Hawaii, and UH Community Colleges are inquiring about employers’ interest in training non-IT employees for IT roles within their businesses. In light of the current economic situation, this retraining project would provide employers an opportunity to reassign valuable employees to IT functions. We could put together statewide cohorts, so even if you just had one employee that would benefit from this training, we could design the program for multiple businesses in one cohort.

Employers, together with UH, would identify the types of roles (e.g., see attached) and IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA certifications) relevant to the businesses’ needs. UH would offer a screening process and training with costs covered by a federal grant for eligible individuals or businesses.

Is this an opportunity for training that your organization would be interested in for any of your current employees? Eligible participants could also be furloughed or employees that were laid off due to COVID that the employer could potentially rehire for IT positions.
Look forward to your feedback if you would be interested in this opportunity.
