We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Water Well Driller to oversee drilling activities and ensure efficient operations. The Driller will be responsible for troubleshooting drilling problems, recommending enhancements, and ensuring the proper use and maintenance of equipment. This position requires a strong focus on safety, organization, communication, and attention to detail.

Essential Duties:

  • Operate drilling equipment, utilizing appropriate drilling techniques for water well systems.
  • Conduct pre-drilling site assessments, considering geological and hydrological factors.
  • Set up and maintain drilling rigs, performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Drill boreholes to specified depths, ream boreholes, and install casings, screens, and grout materials.
  • Conduct pump tests to evaluate water flow rates, pressures, and system performance.
  • Collaborate with geologists and hydrologists, collecting and analyzing soil and water samples.
  • Maintain accurate records of drilling activities and complete required paperwork.
  • Report project progress and statuses to the Drilling Superintendent/Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment operation, and well construction principles.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of water well drilling operator experience.
  • Vocational training or certification in drilling operations or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with top-drive, rotary, table drive, hammers, and tricones is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Hawaii’s geological formations and hydrological conditions is preferred.
