Job Description
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated strategic thinker with a proven record of independently prioritizing and working to achieve results. They will demonstrate skills, knowledge and experience and eagerly learn, improve, and innovate to deliver effective results, provide excellent customer service, value internal and external customers. They shall demonstrate a high proficiency in project management, attention to detail, with an ability to quickly understand and remember details about people and property they are assigned and responsible for.
The Housing Coordinator will assist the Executive Director with the daily operations, administrative and program outreach, with a particular focus on stewardship activities. The Housing Coordinator is responsible for real estate research on potential acquisition of homes and successfully managing program participants and Homeowners. Housing Coordinator is the contact point for Homebuyer candidates, Qualified Buyers, showing homes, drafting Purchase Contracts, manages loan- and escrow-process through closing.
The Housing Coordinator ensures homeowners are in compliance with the Ground Lease, including monitoring payment of lease rents, annual declaration of ownership, insurance, home repairs, refinances, and sale of their home.
Requirements:
- Team player with the ability & desire to work cooperatively with staff
- Exceptional interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining harmonious; working relations with clients, the general public, board members, staff, vendors, and others.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and administrative skills. The candidate must show meticulous attention to detail and demonstrate accuracy and timeliness in record keeping, problem solving, and tracking.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple assignments without close supervision; must be able to prioritize competing tasks while following through in a timely manner and meeting deadlines.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with diverse populations.
- Show flexibility and comfortable with being part of a team effort.
- Must be extremely discreet in working with clients and having knowledge of sensitive and confidential information
- Proficient in MS Office, Publisher, web-site design and maintenance; knowledge of HomeKeeper a plus.
- Assist with, attend and participate at Board and Annual Meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
- Understands and assists with grants and grant writing.
- Demonstrate competence with program coordination, included but not limited to: training, public speaking, facilitation, collaboration, detailed program planning and timely implementation.
- Maintain high-quality standards.
- Fundraising experience a plus. Assist with fundraising events.
- Working knowledge of Federal, State and County housing programs and guidelines, rules and practices for permanent housing a plus.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School education or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
- Current Hawaii Real Estate License strongly preferred. Successful candidate will be required to obtain license within 6 months of employment.
- Minimum 3-5 years progressively responsible employment in areas of real estate, lending, escrow, construction, housing, nonprofits or related fields.
- Software skills: MS Office required; Real Estate programs preferred
- Automobile, valid Driver’s license and insurance. This is a full-time position with benefits
General office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with flexibility per the needs of the business.
Compensation: Pay will be commensurate with experience.
