Job Title: Group Facilitator
Location/Work Status: Wailuku, Hawaii
Job Type: On-Call, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $23.19/hour
Summary of Program and Position:
Family Peace Centers promote peace and safety for Hawaii’s families and communities by providing support and education for those who use violence, survivors, and their children. Violent and abusive behavior is learned and can be unlearned. Accepting responsibility and being accountable for one’s behavior are critical in the path to peace. The consistent use of non-violent skills assures safety for survivors and children, promotes offender accountability, and solidifies an end to the cycle of violence in families and communities. Family Peace Centers emphasize partnership, equality and respect among and between all family members.
The primary responsibility of the Group Facilitator is to facilitate domestic violence or child sex abuse groups involving activities to include group and individual counseling and skill development. This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisor.
Essential Duties:
1. Behaves in a manner that supports the agency’s mission and follows personnel policies and procedures.
2. Participates in planning and preparation for a variety of domestic violence intervention groups.
3. Facilitates a variety of domestic violence intervention and/or child sex abuse groups.
4. Completes individual assessment for group participants and enters data into eHana when assigned.
5. Attends to the safety of victim/survivors and children.
6. Assures timely maintenance of accurate record keeping and data input on clients enrolled in the group.
7. Communicates regularly with co-workers and supervisors about the progress of clients and the development of groups.
8. Regularly attends agency/program staff meetings and trainings, as designated.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education / Training:
1. Bachelor’s degree in in Social Work, Psychology, or related field, required.
Experience:
2. Two (2) years’ experience and training working with families who have experienced domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, substance abuse, or another related field.
Other:
- Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license.
- Has daily access to an automobile.
- Possesses and maintains proof of no-fault insurance.
