Job Description

Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers, Inc. (KHAKO) is looking for a full-time Executive Assistant & Human Resources Coordinator that will provide executive-level administrative support to ensure that Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers, Inc. will be able to fulfil its Mission. This position is responsible for overseeing all Human Resource functions for the agency as well as coordinative executive office activities and special projects, as needed.

Qualification(s):

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Office Administration preferred or an Associate’s Degree and five (5) years of experience in secretarial/administrative work in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree will meet education requirements
  2. Three (3) years of Human Resource experience preferred
  3. Prior experience working in a non-profit organization preferred

Abilities Required:

  1. Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the agency, Board of Directors, clients, and third parties utilizing excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
  2. Ability to anticipate needs to ensure the efficient operations of the Executive Director’s office and organization.
  3. Ability to handle sensitive information with compassion, professionalism and discretion.
  4. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  5. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  6. Ability to clearly present information to and answer questions from employees, managers, clients and the general public.
  7. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  8. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
  9. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  Ability to multi-task, recognizing priorities and business needs.
  10. Uses good judgement displaying strong business ethics and a high level of confidentiality.
  11. Demonstrate fairness.
  12. Dedication to continuous improvement, innovation and remediation.
  13. Ability to utilize Excel and Word, and other HR/Payroll software as needed to maintain records, and work with statistical data to create graphs, charts and reports.
  14. Knowledge of and ability to use office equipment.
  15. Ability to type 45wpm.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is required to regularly sit, talk, hear and concentrate for extended periods of time doing computer, telephone and meeting work.  The employee must be able to frequently walk, stand, and use their hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. This position is regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and occasionally smell.  This position must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. This position will occasionally be required to stand and walk on uneven services.
