Job Description

As the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will ensure the expectations of our owners and guests, as well as the HGV standards are met and exceeded. You will work closely with the departmental Supervisor or Leads in regards to staff/guests interaction, training, supervision, food & beverage/retail delivery and presentation, to ensure the highest level of productivity and efficiency are achieved.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Primary focus will be on Retail / Gift Shop with emphasis on performing administrative duties which may include merchandising, budget control, scheduling, purchasing supplies, preparation of performance appraisals, inventory controls, maintaining knowledge of retail market/trends etc.
  • Ensures all guest interactions are handled in a positive, accurate, and efficient manner at all times. Ensure that all departmental activities are performed within the appropriate guidelines and that all Food and Beverage team members are trained in the area of food quality, sanitation, safety, departmental/resort policies and procedures and guest/owner service standards.
  • Responsible for the operation of the department in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager. Participates in all F&B operations on a daily basis to assist with work load and respond to guest/owner inquiries regarding F&B, retail and resort services. Ensures the provision of special services to owners/guests as needed.
  • Supervises and accounts for the accurate collection of monies received at the various F&B outlets. Resolve problems arising from guest/owner concerns, inventory, supply issues, staffing issues, and other unusual request and inquiries
  • Maintains retail vendor relations ensuring product purchasing, pricing and budgeted controls.
  • Maintains effective communication and coordination of F&B activities with other departments to ensure all standards are met in the areas of productivity.
  • Ensures at the end of each shift that all F&B associates have completed daily checklists and shift closing are accurate.

What are we looking for?
 To fulfill this role optimally, you will need to possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of related experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be of legal age to serve and sell alcohol.
  • Must possess (or be able to obtain) Hawaii Dept. of Health Tuberculosis Clearance Certification.
  • Advanced math skills to include weights, measures and cash handling skills

 

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

 

  • BA/BS/Bachelor\’s Degree
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Valid Liquor Commission Card – must be state/county-specific.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Card – must be state/county-specific.
