Case Manager Job Description
Reports to: Executive Director
Hours: 20 – 40 hours per week
Salary: $18 -$20 per hour
Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Responsible for helping clients progress smoothly through the mediation intake process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
ï‚· Conducts client intake and assesses whether cases are appropriate for mediation as directed
ï‚· Opens, manages and schedules cases
ï‚· Prepares and maintains digital case files
ï‚· Maintains confidentiality of all case activity and client (or prospective client) information
ï‚· Maintains timely contact with clients prior to mediation and assists them with submitting necessary
documentation for their mediation to proceed.
ï‚· Maintains positive working relationships with judges, clerks, bailiffs, attorneys, mediators and other
professionals involved in the mediation process
ï‚· Attends Basic Mediation Training in order to learn about facilitative mediation procedures and skills
ï‚· Gathers, records and files client mediation evaluations; alerts E.D. to trends
ï‚· Assists in supplying data that will be incorporated into quarterly and annual reports from the data base
ï‚· Provides logistical and other support for trainings for volunteer mediators
ï‚· Maintains up-to-date information on mediators and apprentices to help ensure a viable pool of skilled
mediators
Requirements:
ï‚· High School Diploma or equivalent
ï‚· Strong people skills, especially respectful listening
ï‚· Ability to work with diverse populations
ï‚· Ability to remain calm and positive in stressful situations
ï‚· Works well independently as well as part of a team
ï‚· Detail-oriented
ï‚· Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
ï‚· Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Desirable Qualifications:
ï‚· Experience working with volunteers
ï‚· Can demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook/Calendar
or equivalent programs.
ï‚· Can demonstrate proficiency in various social media platforms such as Mail Chimp, Zoom and
Facebook
ï‚· Previous case manager experience
