JOB SUMMARY: The full-time Driver/Courier operates all vehicles as assigned by the GEODSS site management including, but not limited to passenger vans, sedans, and utility vehicles. Provide safe and pleasant driving performances for passengers to and from the site. Due to extended crew hours, for crew safety during the drive, crew often prefers to rest so a pleasant driving experience is often a quiet driving experience. Obey all posted precautions and speed limits.
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). It is a Union position with the IBEW Local 1260 – Maui.
PRIMARY DUTY RESPONSIBLITIES: Operates company assigned vehicles to transport crews to and from the GEODSS site.
Check and verify the basic essential mechanical components and systems of the vehicle, e.g. maintain proper fluid levels, tire pressures. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the interior as well as the exterior of the vehicles. Notify management of any non-compliant issues and unsafe or hazardous vehicle conditions which may jeopardize the safety of your passengers or others before departure.
Responsibilities include picking up the mail at the Post Office (USPS), packages at FedEx (both ground and air) and UPS, five-gallon bottled water, locally purchased items and others as directed acquisitions necessary for contract needs.
Full-Time Salary Range: $50,315 – $57,554
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
EDUCATION: A high school diploma or GED is required.
REMOTE LOCATION REQUIREMENTS: For Maui the employee must be able to work at a 10,000-foot elevation at the summit of Haleakala.
OTHER:
- Must have a valid driver\’s license
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
Must be able to lift objects up to 40-pounds
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Desirable Qualifications: Basic vehicle maintenance understanding/knowledge
Able to safely operate vehicle while transiting Haleakala Highway to and from the summit at an elevation of 10,000 feet occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
This is a full-time position with a set schedule. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 0630AM – 1030AM and 200PM – 6PMHST with opportunity for overtime.
