Job Description
ScribeAmerica is hiring medical scribes to work in person with our emergency department providers in Maui. As a medical scribe you will shadow a provider during their shift and are responsible for documenting the patient interactions into the electroninc medical record (EMR).
Responsibilities include:
- Documenting the patient’s history, physical exams, assessments, diagnostic results, medical procedures, treatment plans, diagnoses, medication/perscription information and follow up instructions
- Navigate the facility computer system and EMR
- Monitor pending labs and radiology orders to help guide patient care
- Review past history and test results on patients which are critical in driving medical decisions by your provider
- Adhere to the medical facilitie’s complinace requirements and ScribeAmerica’s company policies and procedures
Shifts:
- Emergency Department shifts vary but we cover morning, afternoon, evening, night and weekends shifts.
- All scribes must be able to work at least 2 overnights and weekends per month and show some availability during the weekdays for shifts.
- Scribes work the same shifts as the providers. The shifts are typically between 8-12hrs long
