We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our construction company. As the CFO, you will play a critical role in managing our financial operations, strategy, and reporting. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work closely with the executive team to ensure the financial health and success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Strategy: Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with the overall business strategy. Identify and recommend financial initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
• Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and oversee financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for the organization. Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of financial risk.
• Financial Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements. Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. Present financial results and key insights to the executive team and CEO.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks such as market fluctuations, liquidity issues, and compliance risks. Implement risk management strategies and establish controls to safeguard the organization’s financial assets.
• Capital Structure: Develop and implement capital structure strategies to optimize the organization’s capitalization. Evaluate financing options and make recommendations to secure funding for the company’s projects and growth initiatives.
• Cash Management: Oversee cash management and treasury functions, including managing banking relationships, monitoring liquidity, and optimizing cash flow. Develop and maintain cash management strategies, including cash flow forecasting, investment management, and debt management.
• Funding and Investments: Identify and secure funding sources, manage investments, and oversee financial transactions. Evaluate investment opportunities and assess their financial viability and alignment with the organization’s goals.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and other financial and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate financial records, documentation, and internal controls. Serve as a liason with external auditors and tax accountants to optimize tax planning and ensure timely and accurate return preparation.
• Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team. Set goals and objectives for the finance department and provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities. Foster a culture of financial excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree and/or CPA designation preferred.
• 10+ years of proven experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Experience with AIA billing and Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedules.
