La‘akea Village is a life-sharing community that includes people with special needs dedicated to discovering, supporting, and enhancing the contribution of each individual through meaningful opportunities and productive work. The programs include gardening, economic ventures, the arts, and activities of daily living – all coming alive in a community with homes, community buildings, a country store, craft studios, and multipurpose buildings. Inspired by the Camphill Model, La‘akea Village offers a unique alt="jobs and employers"ernative to conventional care where co-workers, residents, and day program participants can thrive. We are inspired by the structure and philosophy of Camphill Villages worldwide. The Camphill movement began in 1939 in Scotland and is based on the belief that all humans possess an inner spirit that can be recognized, nurtured, and educated. It is with a spirit of service, determination, and commitment that we step forward to embody this vision and these values in our work and interactions.
