Returning to work after being on extended unemployment can feel overwhelming. In fact, sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. The Maui County Virtual Job Fair, The Maui American Job Center, and University of Hawaii Maui College have teamed up to bring you multiple resources. Whether you’re a job seeker who’s been out of work for a year and a half, or someone looking to learn new skills and move into a fresh career…we have steps for you to take that will move you onto the next level.
Step 1: Create an Account at Maui County Virtual Job Fair
Once you’ve created an account by clicking on the Register button, you can start using all of the services.
Options: create a professional resume or upload one
- Upload a photo
- Fill in your contact and educational information
- Add employment history
Step 2: Search for Jobs
Sort jobs based on sectors and find available opportunities. Â Create a resume or attach the current resume you just created. Employers will be able to contact you right away for an interview.
Step 3: Online Training Options through University Hawaii Maui Campus (UHMC)
For $79-$200, you can sign up for a training course. They have options for instructor-led courses or self-paced ones. Courses start all the time, so take a peek and see what you can benefit from!
Step 4: Join the Maui County Virtual Job Fair Facebook Group
New jobs and resources will be posted weekly to the group. Members can also post job openings and crowdsource opportunities for each other.
Step 5: Take Advantage of Upcoming Job Fairs
Whether the job fair is in person, virtual or a drive-thru event, Maui County will keep you posted on upcoming events, so you can stay up-to-date and land the right job.
