Maui’s Senior Community Service Employment Program

If you or someone you know is at least 55 years old and are low income, based on the federal poverty level guidelines, MEO can help find part time employment. Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) helps participants to update job skills, build work experience and confidence and continue to have economic security and well being.

Basic SCSEP Eligibility Requirements:

  • 55 years or older.
  • Resident of Maui County.
  • Gross income of the family in which the applicant is a member of the household shall not exceed 125% of the poverty levels established by the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Types of training offered are in the fields of housekeeping/custodial, ground maintenance, receptionist/office aid and adult day care aid. Participants will undergo paid job training while also actively looking for stable work. MEO staff will help participants until they enter the work force and then actively follow-up to make sure they are doing well up to a year later.
