Company Description

Na Hale O Maui (NHOM) is a grass-roots Non-Profit 501c3 Organization created to provide the workforce in Maui County with truly affordable housing in perpetuity. NHOM purchases abandoned/vacant homes to rehabilitate and re-sell. We also purchase vacant lots with the purpose of building new homes.  NHOM sells rehabilitated or newly built homes to qualified households earning between 80% to 140% of the Area Median Income (AMI) as published annually by HUD.  Every qualified buyer/household must meet Na Hale O Maui’s requirements. Each sale is completed with a 99-year Ground Lease and Purchase Option with an option to renew for another 99 years.  Na Hale O Maui has an option to purchase the property when the homeowner decides to sell, and shares a portion of the equity appreciation with the homeowner. If NHOM does not exercise their right to purchase, the homeowner can sell to another qualified buyer in the same AMI category with the new buyer receiving a new 99-year lease.  Na Hale O Maui retains ownership of the land, which creates the ability to keep the home truly affordable in perpetuity.
