                    <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p>
<p>The Youth Partner is responsible for engaging with youth, young adults and/or families in a community, home, or school setting. The primary role is to provide hope, one-on-one support, and mentorship to participants by strategically sharing experience with recovery/resilience and expertise in navigating systems and programs. The Youth Partner will act as a key team member of the youth’s service team by providing peer support to youth in the Child &amp; Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD); supporting youth voice and empowerment by assisting the youth in development so as to improve their overall functioning and quality of life; and support in furthering authentic youth engagement in their clinical management plan. The Youth Partner on Maui will also play a key role in the planning and implementation of community wellness events that would provide youth on Maui with information and strategies around trauma and grief. This includes music, art and other recreational activities, as well as social, community service, and cultural activities to build relationships and healing.</p>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide neutral peer support to youth in the Child &amp; Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD).</li>
<li>Further youth engagement in their clinical management plan.</li>
<li>Participate in team meetings and/or other meetings and trainings as deemed appropriate.</li>

<li>Must be a young adult ages 18 to 27 who is willing and able to self-identify as a person who has or is receiving mental health services as a youth, and is prepared to use that lived experience in helping other youth currently navigating the system(s).</li>

<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Responsible for working in collaborative environment, with a team of other on-call, part-time and full-time Recorders, Facilitators, Administrative Support Supervisor, Training Specialist, Administrative staff, Supervisor, Manager &#8211; OC, Executive Director and collaboration as needed with all other programs statewide.</li>
<li>May be asked to collect, organize, analyze, pre-meeting documentation ahead of time as assigned and appropriate for the specific meeting.</li>
<li>Responsible for thorough, professional and efficient note taking to include key issues in a concise manner as presented from all key participants, including family and professional sources to appropriately and non-judgmentally secure important concerns and issues pertaining to the conference.</li>
<li>Accurately document from all key participants, and actively pursuing clarification where needed regarding critical information such as important court and follow up dates, contact information including names, fax number, telephone, mailing and e-mail address provided during the conference.</li>
<li>Verify and clarify legal status and timelines of all of cases during the ‘Ohana Conference/Wrap Meeting/Youth Circle.
<ul>
<li>Stay current on all new procedures, policies, protocols and directions regarding ‘Ohana conferencing, Youth Circles and/or Family Wrap Hawaiʻi as assigned.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Follow all steps as described in the recorder manual, leading to the successful recording of the ‘Ohana Conference/Wrap Meeting/Youth Circle/Re-conference assigned.</li>
<li>Responsible and in collaboration with the Facilitator for collecting signatures of all participants, maintaining confidentiality and turning in all required paperwork to the administrative specialist the day of or immediately following the conference.</li>
<li>Responsible for timely communication with OC/Wrap/YC teams as needed to ensure strong preparation for the meeting.</li>
<li>Timely communication with relevant team members and leadership to verify and clarify all urgent or pressing information including major issues, concerns at least three (3) days prior to conference/meeting, or less on rushed meetings.</li>
<li>Secure directions and key if needed, to the ‘Ohana Conference/Wrap Meeting/Youth Circle site including completion of registration and payment, as needed.</li>
<li>Responsible to verify flight requests, hotel bookings, and car reservations, as needed, with EPIC Travel Team.</li>
<li>Responsible and in collaboration with the facilitator and administrative staff, for pickup and delivery of ‘Ohana Conference/Wrap Meeting/Youth Circle materials, including food and water, key or other miscellaneous materials prior to the conference, as needed.</li>
<li>Responsible for providing outreach services regarding but not limited to ‘Ohana Conference/Wrap Meeting/Youth Circle in-person information to family and or other key participants who may not be reached otherwise.</li>
<li>Responsible for writing the ‘Ohana Conference summary including amendments and editing until satisfactorily completed no later than ten (10) days from date of conference and sooner on rushed requests.</li>
<li>Provide childcare at conferences, as requested or needed.</li>

<ul>
<li>Board Coordination and Administration
<ul>
<li>Support the coordination of the work of the HI H.O.P.E.S. Youth Leadership Board in designated locations (Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Maui County, East Hawaiʻi or West Hawaiʻi);</li>
<li>Provide logistical and administrative support for board meetings, trainings and advocacy activities;</li>
<li>Assist with coordination of quarterly Community Partnerships (CP) Hui meetings and prepare board members for participation.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Youth Engagement and Development
<ul>
<li>Support the execution of programs that support youth engagement, youth-adult partnerships and positive youth development;</li>
<li>Assist HI H.O.P.E.S. program with engaging youth leaders in preparing testimony, presentations, and community engagement efforts;</li>
<li>Support the engagement and training of board members so they can fully participate in all Initiative strategies;</li>
<li>Promote respectful, strength-based interactions that foster youth-adult partnerships;</li>

<li>o Program and Event Participation

<li>Support board members in community activities, advocacy efforts and events (e.g., Imua Kākou hearings, Transition Ceremonies, Teen Days, etc.).</li>

<li>o Support communication between the youth leadership board and partner agencies, as needed</li>
<li>o Promote youth-adult partnerships by fostering respectful and strength-based interactions.</li>

<li>HI H.O.P.E.S. Match Program Support:

<li>Support recruitment of participants for financial literacy trainings;</li>

<p>The Maui Humane Society&#8217;s mission is: “To protect and save the lives of Maui&#8217;s animals; accepting all in need, educating the community, and inspiring respect and compassion towards all animals.”</p>
<p><b>Primary Purpose</b>: Under the supervision of the Veterinary team, Veterinary Assistant will provide assistance to the Shelter Veterinary Technicians or the Surgery Veterinary Technicians and MHS Veterinarians with their routine health examinations and health maintenance for all animals sheltered at the Maui Humane Society. They may also assist in the preparation and monitoring of animals at MHS for surgery.</p>
<ul>
<li>Safely handle all animals at the shelter, including difficult and feral ones, for examinations and procedures.</li>
<li>Prepare surgical suite daily, ensuring necessary supplies are ready, paperwork completed, and animals are properly prepared.</li>
<li>Assist veterinary technician in surgery, anesthesia, and post-operative care, as well as maintaining cleanliness of surgical instruments.</li>
<li>Provide routine health care for shelter animals, administer treatments, observe progress, and document findings.</li>
<li>Assist with animal check-ins, running tests, administering medications, and entering information into shelter software.</li>
<li>Assist in managing cat building, including health checks, treatments, medications, and euthanasia when necessary.</li>
<li>Obtain Euthanasia certification and assist with euthanasia procedures for various species.</li>
<li>Assist adopters and the public with health information and instructions, providing good customer service.</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with animal care attendants regarding health status and special treatments needed.</li>
<li>Assist with supply inventory, ensuring essential items are stocked in relevant areas.</li>
<li>Help with scheduling spay/neuter appointments, preparing paperwork, and ensuring animals are ready for surgery.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records of controlled drugs and utilize computer systems effectively.</li>
<li>Keep workstations clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, restocking, and laundry.</li>
<li>Follow procedures and policies of the Maui Humane Society, maintaining a positive public image.</li>
<li>Participate in fundraising activities and promote support for the organization.</li>

<p id="isPasted">The primary responsibility of the Group Facilitator is to facilitate domestic violence or child sex abuse groups involving activities to include group and individual counseling and skill development. This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisor.</p>

Responsibilities also include managing customer service for members questions and support. This position requires routine management and maintenance of the Girl Scout Camp Property – Camp Pi’iholo and the Maui Girl Scout office. The Maui County Island Coordinator’s duties also include communications and delivery of key information to all Girl Scouts of Hawaii members throughout Maui County.</p>

Creating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (schools, community organizations, religious institutions, etc.) to maintain recruitment efforts yearlong.</p>
<p>2. Building relationships that retain our Girl Scout members. Train and support volunteers to create Girl Scout troops throughout the county of Maui. Ensures that all required trainings are up to date and volunteers have received all necessary training</p>
<p>3. Plan and execute Girl Scout programs and events throughout the year to support Girl Scouts and Girl Scout Troops. Facilitate badge and patch programs for the Girl Scouts of Maui County.</p>
<p>4. Manage all aspects of the Afterschool Leadership Program on the island of Maui. Includes hiring, coaching, training, and assisting afterschool advisors to execute Girl Scout troops within key designated title 1 schools. Also responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with school administrators to continue the programs annually. Support may include in-person and virtual troop leadership and program delivery. Support includes supporting ASLP troop participation in the Girl Scout Cookie Program.</p>
<p>5. Manage communication of crucial information to all members of the County of Maui. Strategize, plan, create, and distribute all communications to members throughout the year with the goal to increase membership engagement.</p>

<p><strong>OPPORTUNITY:</strong></p>
<p>The Surfrider Foundation is seeking a partial full-time (32 hours/week with benefits) Maui Fire Response Coordinator to help build the organizational capacity of the Maui chapter and aid in community recovery through community-based environmental campaigns and programs, leading to improved community awareness on water quality issues and action towards solutions that impact the health and recreational enjoyment of the ocean waters. This individual must have a background in direct action organizing and grassroots outreach. The successful applicant will work in a coordinated effort with the Hawai’i Regional Manager &amp; Maui chapter network.</p>
<p><strong>DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Act as the point of contact for Maui Fire Response efforts</li>
<li>Establish Blue Water Task Force (BWTF) volunteer teams on West and South Maui
<ul>
<li>Coordinate new BWTF volunteers and data collection</li>
<li>Coordinate with University of Hawaiʻi Researchers to collect and analyze additional samples</li>
<li>Capture first flush samples for select South and West Maui sites</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Evaluate additional contaminate testing related to fires</li>
<li>Input and manage additional water quality data and public notifications (e.g. social media posts)</li>
<li>Attend weekly Maui Water Quality Hui meetings</li>
<li>Build a spreadsheet to collate and share information from the different water quality sampling efforts</li>
<li>Write and publish blog posts related to Maui Wildfire Response efforts, and share via social media</li>
<li>Maintain updated information on Maui Chapter website related to Maui Wildfire Response</li>
<li>Work with Maui Chapter Volunteer Coordinator to coordinate volunteers specific to the fire response efforts including expanded water quality monitoring, working with community groups and County to address polluted runoff from Kula and Lahaina,  providing input and support to environmentally responsible re-building efforts in Lahaina, supporting affected Ocean Friendly Restaurants, etc.</li>
<li>Coordinate fire response efforts with partner organizations (e.g. Hui O Ka Wai Ola, Boards for Buddies, etc.)</li>
<li>Support rebuilding efforts towards a more just and resilient coastal future</li>
<li>Coordinate supply donations and deliveries</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Reports To</strong>: Hawai’i Regional Manager</p>
<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>At least one year of experience in volunteer management and community engagement</li>
<li>Experience in direct action grassroots organizing and coalition building</li>
<li>Knowledge of state, regional and national coastal &amp; ocean environmental issues and management</li>
<li>Demonstrated commitment to advancing equity and inclusiveness</li>
<li>Meeting facilitation to ensure conversations are focused, work is moved forward, and relationships are built, both in person and virtually.</li>
<li>Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with elected officials, agency staff, industry representatives and ocean stakeholders.</li>
<li>Well-developed strategic thinking and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously.</li>
<li>Experience in speaking publicly in front of a large number of people in diverse situations.</li>
<li>Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the island of Maui.</li>
<li>Willingness to work flexible hours (including weekends and evenings)</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively from a home office</li>
<li>Ability to work independently</li>
<li>Ability or willingness to learn how to use tech tools, platforms, and apps such as Salesforce, Hubspot, Golden, Google Drive and Basecamp.</li>
<li>Knowledge or experience in environmental science, water quality monitoring, and/or marine science is a plus</li>
<li>Must hold valid drivers license and have own vehicle to travel within the region as needed.</li>

                    <description><![CDATA[<p>Under the direction and supervision of the Early Literacy Coordinator/Project Director, the Early Literacy Data Coordinator directly supports the Early Literacy (EL) project for Maui Family Support Services, Inc. (MFSS) with the grant from the Hawaii Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Early Literacy Project.  The goals of the Hawaii CLSD Early Literacy Project is to supplement current early literacy efforts with innovative strategies to: (1) advance the foundational language and literacy skills in our youngest keiki; and (2) engage families to support their children’s development and learning, targeting the most vulnerable and underrepresented communities.</p>
<p>Objectives: The Hawaii CLSD program objectives are to:</p>
<p>(1) Enhance birth to grade 12 literacy outcomes for our most disadvantaged students;</p>
<p>(2) Implement evidence-based literacy practices with fidelity;</p>
<p>(3) Ensure sub-grantees develop evidence-based literacy plans;</p>
<p>(4) Enhance data-driven decision-making; and</p>
<p>(5) Engage families in supporting their children’s literacy and language development.</p>
<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong><strong>:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Assist the EL Coordinator/Project Director in setting up professional learning activities.</li>
<li>Provide training and technical assistance to the participating project partners as directed by the EL Coordinator/Project Director.</li>
<li>Facilitate the implementation of approved literacy activities and assist in monitoring project outcomes as directed by the EL Coordinator/Project Director.</li>
<li>As directed by the EL Coordinator/Projector, assist in collecting information via surveys, interview, and/or assessments on gains in children as well as teachers’ and administrators’ capacity to provide effective language and literacy instruction and assist in reporting the findings as required for program evaluation.</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate, collect, monitor, and manage the child, teacher, and family level data from all the project partners and ensure data inputting is done accurately and timely.</li>
<li>Conduct ongoing monitoring of data collection from all EL partners.</li>
<li>Meet with individual participating project partners.</li>
</ul>

<li>Participate in Implementation meetings with the project teams and community partners.</li>
<li>Participate in the development and establishment of a data-sharing agreement between MFSS, the participating partners, and HIDOE and Hawaii P-20.</li>
<li>Assist the EL Coordinator/Project Director in developing the Literacy Plan, Implementation/Evaluation Plan, Professional Learning Plan, and advance the early literacy project plan.</li>
<li>Participate with the EL Coordinator/Project Director in networking, facilitating, and collaborating with other community and state-based literacy efforts, including CoMMIT for Keiki, Islands of Hope, and Hooikaika Partnership.</li>
<li>Assist the EL Coordinator/Project Director in preparing reports, as assigned.</li>
<li>Attend training and meetings as needed and requested.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with the EL team and partners to ensure high-quality early childhood education and development services that promote positive outcomes and comprehensive school readiness of children including dual language learners.</li>
<li>Attend staff meetings and participate in agency in-service training and other meetings as required.</li>
<li>Keep current on best practices and trends in child development and early literacy development.</li>
<li>Participate in program planning including Performance Quality Improvement (PQI), ongoing monitoring, Self-Assessment, and Community Assessment.</li>

                    <description><![CDATA[<p>Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, the Youth Services Facilitator is responsible for program implementation and interactive facilitation of Life Skills for students in local Middle and High Schools. The Youth Services Facilitator assists students in increasing school connectedness and develop resiliency to become and remain drug free. She/He ensures curriculum and services are age- and culturally-appropriate, facilitate youth development, and promote responsible, positive peer interaction. She/He ensures that substance abuse prevention is at the center of all curriculum, activities, and demonstrations.</p>
<p>The Facilitator is responsible for providing resources and referrals to youths, assisting them in strengthening their ability to prevent unplanned pregnancies and increase their knowledge of and attention to pregnancy prevention and sexually transmitted infections (STI).</p>
<p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p>
<p>Direct Services:<br />
1. Establishes a trusting relationship with youth (groups and individuals) through the facilitation of the evidence-based Life Skills Training with fidelity.<br />
2. Coordinates and facilitates safe and nonjudgmental groups for youth. Makes arrangements for the following:<br />
• Session supplies;<br />
• Cultural-based activities;<br />
• Set-up of physical environment; and<br />
• Speaker or curriculum.<br />
3. Has working knowledge of pregnancy prevention strategies.<br />
4. Provides education and support to large and small groups of youth on Relationships, Independence, Competence, Creativity, and Optimism.<br />
5. Provides education and support to large and small groups of adolescents on pregnancy prevention and sexuality. Participate in community health and/or educational fairs.<br />
6. Solicits and encourages participant feedback, through evaluation, in design and development of program. Implements improvement based on communication from participants.<br />
7. Coordinates and facilitates classes at local middle and High Schools regarding pregnancy prevention and life skills.<br />
8. Meets with Program Supervisor weekly for individual Supervision and monthly for group supervision with MFSS Staff involved in the Youth Services program.<br />
9. Collaborates with School staff and teachers to facilitate Life Skills classes during Health period and during after school program sessions.<br />
10. Performs quarterly evaluation of School staff working with MFSS.<br />
11. Reviews and reports on progress in meeting program objectives.<br />
12. Maintains confidentiality of records and all related information.<br />
13. Demonstrates knowledge of community resources and uses these appropriately to meet the needs of participants.<br />
14. Demonstrates organizational skills independently managing workload and related responsibilities, including planning and evaluating with participants the activities for groups.<br />
15. Demonstrates:<br />
a. A commitment to empowering others to solve their own problems;<br />
b. The ability to establish a respectful relationship with persons served to help them gain skills and confidence; and<br />

17. Records pertinent information related to youth and their families such as observations made, activities conducted and interventions used to address stress reduction.<br />

<p>Administrative Tasks:<br />
1. Reports unsafe conditions, injuries/illnesses and incidents in a timely manner.<br />
2. Conducts monthly, quarterly, and annual participant record reviews and maintains required data collection systems for projects, including information for monitoring reports and completing reports and project evaluations in a timely manner.<br />
3. Reviews participants on a regular basis and ensures that any participant that may be involved in “imminent harm” or “threatened harm” is referred for possible Child Welfare Services (CWS) report.<br />
4. Ensures that all contract requirements are met for assigned programs including defined services, activities, target group numbers, outcomes and designated participant assessments.<br />
5. Attends staff meetings and participates in agency in-service training and other meetings as required.<br />
6. Represents MFSS in public presentations, community meetings in a professional manner.<br />
7. Coordinates with MFSS Administrative staff to arrange travel for events, set up conference calls and webinars, requests inventor and/or supplies needed for the program in a timely manner.</p>

<p>Nā Keiki O Emalia provides support to grieving children, teens, and their families experiencing the death of someone close to them. We conduct no-cost peer support groups led by trained facilitators in schools and in the community and provide learning opportunities for parents, caregivers, educators, and other community leaders on how to more effectively support children who are coping with loss.</p>
<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong><br />
As the Program Manager, you will work with the Executive Director to expand Nā Keiki O Emalia&#8217;s grief services and facilitator training sessions to five underserved areas of Maui County: Hana, Lana&#8217;i, Moloka&#8217;i, Lahaina, and Upcountry. You will work in collaboration with local leaders to offer grief support to children, teens and their families.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong><br />
Expanding Grief Support Groups in Schools<br />
• Reach out to Maui schools and build relationships with school personnel to gain their support and involvement in implementing support groups<br />
• Keep training materials and resources up to date for school staff and support group facilitators<br />
• Recruit and train volunteer facilitators to conduct grief support groups and assist in recruiting others to promote Nā Keiki O Emali’s mission<br />
• Schedule group meetings in schools making sure the right space and resources are available<br />
• Community Outreach &#8211; Community Leaders and Agencies<br />
• Locate additional partner agencies and community leaders to better serve all areas of Maui County<br />
• Schedule local community roundtable meetings to brainstorm with community members<br />
• Share information about grief with schools and community groups to raise awareness about how children cope with loss<br />
• Program Management and Development<br />
• As you learn more about the program and local areas, share your ideas for how we can expand our services and better meet community needs as well as potential fundraising ideas<br />
• Use our software to keep track of program participation (we can train) including using data and information to share with decision makers (the Executive Director, the Board and Stakeholders, for example)</p>
<p><strong>Candidate Requirements:</strong><br />
• Experience working with children, families, and/or volunteers in your professional or personal life<br />
• Comfort discussing grief with the people of Maui County and the ability to build relationships across diverse communities<br />
• Great listening and communication skills<br />
• Passion for working with others toward shared goals<br />
• Excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving, and time management skills<br />
• Ability to learn new technologies and software<br />
• Familiarity with diverse Maui resident populations including rural communities<br />

Responsibilities:<br />
• Handle incoming calls with compassion and professionalism; complete intake for families who are contacting us for the first time<br />
• Maintain systems of organization for the office, book travel arrangements, manage office schedule(s), coordinate meetings, and process incoming mail<br />
• Deposit incoming donations and input donor information into our database before processing donor acknowledgement letters<br />
• Draft and proofread documents, coordinate and support events (fundraisers, workshops, and community outreach)<br />
• Order and inventory office and program supplies, supporting and directing volunteers when necessary<br />
• Coordinate meetings and correspond with volunteers, committee members and families</p>
<p><strong>Candidate Requirements:</strong><br />

This position will be stationed on the island of Maui and will report to the Maui Coalition for Drug-Free Youth Director. While this coalition aims to promote drug and alcohol prevention in youth, this particular position will serve as the coordinator for the duties associated with the adult volunteers/members of the coalition and this individual will be a connector between multiple networks and work with the coalition’s Youth Coordinator to support coalition goals. The position includes outreach, coordination, and leadership development of the adult coalition members in reaching the coalition’s goals of implementing community-level prevention strategies that reduce drug and alcohol-related harms in the community.</p>
