What You’ll Do

• Work with doctors during patient visits to document everything.
• Record patient history, exams, and treatments.
• Use electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Review and track lab and test results.
• Follow HIPAA and other rules to keep records secure.

What You’ll Need

Where You’ll Work
As an on-site medical scribe you will be working in the emergency department setting.

Schedule Options
We offer both part-time (2–3 shifts per week) and full-time (3–4 shifts per week) positions. Emergency department shifts vary but we cover morning, afternoon, evening, overnight and weekend shifts.All scribes must be able to work at least 2 overnights per month and 2 weekends per month. The Position:

We’re looking for passionate Registered Nurses to help us with providing professional nursing care to residents following established policies and procedures of the facility.

• Administers medications/treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures.
• Takes telephone orders from physicians and transcribes orders to new medication administration record, the pre-printed physician order sheet, resident chart, treatment/care plans as appropriate.
• Maintains & orders appropriate inventory of resident medications and medical stock supplies.
• Conducts accurate physical assessments of residents, determines their needs and implements appropriate interventions to meet those needs.
• Performs assessments on admission, transfer and/or discharges.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as s Registered Nurse in the State of Hawaii required.
• Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards of practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviation required.
• First Aid and CPR preferred (can be done in-house).

Medical Scribe Job Description

・Accompany providers during patient visits to assist in documenting the provider assessment and exam
・Gain substantial knowledge in how to appropriately document patient history, physical exams, assessments, diagnostic results, medical procedures, treatment plans, medical opinions of consultants, diagnoses, medication/prescription information, and follow-up instructions
・Navigate the facility computer system and electronic medical record
・Monitor pending labs and radiology orders for results to help guide patient care

The board-certified physicians in the Oncology department evaluate and treat all types of cancer and blood disorders. At Straub’s newly renovated Outpatient Treatment Center, patients receive blood transfusions, chemotherapy, nutritional support, antibiotics and other IV therapies.
