<p><strong>S</strong><strong>ummary of Program and Position: </strong></p>
<p><strong><span id="isPasted">Family Peace Centers promote peace and safety for Hawaii’s families and communities by providing support and education for those who use violence, survivors, and their children. Violent and abusive behavior is learned and can be unlearned. Accepting responsibility and being accountable for one’s behavior are critical in the path to peace. The consistent use of non-violent skills assures safety for survivors and children, promotes offender accountability, and solidifies an end to the cycle of violence in families and communities. Family Peace Centers emphasize partnership, equality and respect among and between all family members.</span></strong></p>
<p id="isPasted">The Client Advocate works with clients referred to for Domestic Violence Intervention and Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention intervention Programs in Maui County. Client Advocates are responsible for providing advocacy, group facilitation and support services to domestic violence survivors, offenders and/or children exposed to domestic violence as well as clients referred by CWS for child abuse and neglect intervention and prevention programs. This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisor.</p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Essential Duties:</strong></p>
<ul id="isPasted">
<li>Plans, conducts, and completes intake/assessments in accordance with agency and program procedures for clients referred by the Judiciary, MCCC, DHS and self-referrals.</li>
<li>Plans and facilitates a variety of groups for the Judiciary, DHS and MCCC, as designated.</li>
<li>Plans and provides case management, outreach, supervised visitation, transportation, and advocacy, as designated.</li>
<li>Attends to the safety of survivors and children, as designated.</li>
<li>Assures timely maintenance of accurate record keeping, data input and court reporting on clients enrolled in the component program. Completes assessment and observation forms for supervised visits in accordance with funder and state guidelines, and PACT policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Works collaboratively with other staff, community members, clients, and client collaterals to addressissues related to client services and program activities</li>
<li>Responds to requests for information from clients, client collaterals and community members, as designated.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.</li>
<li>Two (2) years’ experience and training working with families who have experienced domestic violence, child abuse and neglect or substance abuse, or related field required.</li>
</ol>

<li>Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license.</li>
<li>Has daily access to an automobile.</li>
